Do you ever get the chance to read much Las Vegas history? My dad, who I took to Vegas in February, has always been a bit of a history nut. I guess a little may have rubbed off on me at some point. I love to read biographies.

Well, there was a book that my dad found at, he believes, the bookstore inside Mandalay Bay. We had literally been in Las Vegas less than an hour and he did not want to buy it and carry it around all day. He thought he would come across it during the rest of the trip. Well, the book was "The Man Who Invented Vegas" by Wilkerson.

We didn't see the book at the Flamingo which was odd since the book was about Bugsy Siegel who ran the Flamingo. In fact, we saw it just one more time on the trip and it was a special edition at the museum at Neonopolis. He didn't buy it.

So, last week, he calls me and wants me to find the book. I think it will be tough to find but it wasn't. In fact, it was available at Amazon.

So, I ordered it and another book I wanted called the Money and Power Of Vegas. I have been reading all about Meyer Lansky, Hank Greenspun, and starting today about McCarran.

Read a book. Open up your mind. I sound like a PSA!
