Yes, the monorail is down again...

Another part fell off. Maybe they need to build the monorail track closer to the ground so when the parts fall off it isn't so noticeable...Just a thought.

This time, they are really going to check this thing out and make sure it is safe to operate. Seems to me that Disney has had their monorail up for thirty years or so and I don't remember any such problems with it.

The bonds that back the monorail system are being put on watch. In other words, they might not get repaid. Also, traffic on the monorail is only running at 55% of projections...

According to one of the Palm Springs TV Stations, the monorail will resume "normal" operations on Tuesday AM. They however can't say what caused a wheel to come off of the monorail.
I'm sure (OK, I hope) they do "know" what caused it and just aren't saying. It would have been all the same had it fallen on someone and killed them.

As for resuming "normal" operations, I was not aware that it ever has operated normally. Why do I sound angry? I'm not really. I just feel the monorail has been ill conceived from the start.
