January is not shaping up to be a great month for Las Vegas news. First, Binion's was closed. Then, the Aladdin announced that not only were they still losing money but supposedly they are stoked about it, and now Castaways has drifted off.

Yes, yesterday Castaways was shut down by their mortgage holder. Now, a bunch of people (again) are left without rooms on a busy Super Bowl weekend. Castaways is largely a locals joint but still it will be missed by many a Vegas-ite.

Their website has been replaced by an ad for Studio 11. I assume they were the web hosting provider for Castaways.

Today might be a good day to plug Casino Death Watch.

I kinda wonder who is going to be next. Let's discuss it in the forum

The World Poker Tour on NBC this Sunday? I hadn't heard but it is true. It will be on during the Pre-SuperBowl activities.

Binion's is still having trouble, even under new owners. Seems the place is full of asbestos that needs taken care of before it is reopened. I really don't understand the whole issue. We are running a contest to get our forum kicked off on the right foot. Log in and check out the News Section

Since Kyle introduced me, I thought I'd say Hello!

"WebMaster" Ed

Has anyone ever done the special offer with Harrah's and Fairfield Timeshares? What is the catch or downfall. For those of you unaware, you can get 2 nights at Harrah's for $69 through this promotion.

Ed continues to work his magic on my drivel. I'm working on a Poker page over the next 24 hours. It has been the rage as you know unless you have been living under a rock. I play a lot at PokerStars where, the infamous, Chris Moneymaker got his start before winning the WSOP at Binion's.

I've been playing a lot at Vegas Time Casino as well. I doubled my money and cashed out!

Las Vegas last night was more like Lost Time...

That show was horrible! No wonder they have been promoting the Paris cameo on next week's show...

I just read a great review of the Rat Pack Tribute Show going on at Greek Isles. Remember, the tickets are free with InsiderVLV

Do not forget, Las Vegas is on NBC tonight. It starts a minute early. I don't know why... Brian Setzer has a video out for Luck Be A Lady. You can see it at NBC's site

We have updated the Weddings Page. Also, we have a new webmaster for the VegasKyle.com site. His name is Ed. He will make all of my musings look pretty. At least, that is the plan. You have probably seen his work already.

Don't miss the chance to bet (for free) on the Superbowl with Tradesports.

I'm hypothetically "snowed in" today. Not really...I could get out, but I am going to use the excuse to get some things done in my home office today.

Travel Channel is running more of the Vegas Shows again. I actually found one I had not seen just last night...
