The Golden Nugget is having a 3 card Poker Tournament March 1st-3rd. $50,000 is the grand prize. You can enter for just $400. You get two nights lodging, entry to the tourney, two tickets to the reception, and a free gift.
800-634-3454 to enter.
I do have to complain about the Tropicana. I have sent emails and left a phone message with my new casino host and have not gotten any response. There is no reason for that and I will remember. This is over a period of nearly 3 weeks. Unacceptable!
I hope you have a great weekend. Don't gamble too much.

On the gambling front, win4real.com I would like to tell you about some Progressive Jackpots that are primed to be won. They have progressives on Free Ride, Bermuda Poker and on slot machines such as Tropical, Sunken Treasure, and Hook, Line, and Sinker.
The Super Bowl will be here before you know it. Win4Real has launched their Super Picks contest. It is a free contest where your Super Bowl knowledge could win you $100,000 in cash as well as other fantastic prizes.
If I can figure out how to do it, I will place the current odds on our Gaming webpage

There is extremely too much to tell you about today. First, I will start with a plug for the new forum. It will take some time for it to become populated with great material but we will take the approach that slow is OK. Why don't you stop in and sign up and introduce yourself?
On the deals front, I have a few to pass along. Excalibur has their traditional winter specials going on with rooms starting at $45.95 although I need to mention that price is good only 9 days between now and the end of March. Expect to pay at least $69 during most stays. Here are the extras: 2 for 1 Roundtable Dinner Buffet (this tends to get a ton of bad reviews like the Boardwalk Buffet) but I went and enjoyed it almost a year ago (and lived). $10 off Tournament Of Kings, $5 off Thunder Down Under, 2 for 1 Well Drink at any casino bar, 2 for 1 hamburger at Sherwood Forest Cafe, 2 for 1 Hot Dog at Little John's Snack Bar, and one Excalibur Fun Book. Call 1-888-211-5464 or book online with code XEM23.
Boardwalk has some decent room prices as well for Floors 9-16 on Strip View Rooms. You have to book these online at their website and use code RDTRIP.
Finally, MGM Grand is running a special with rooms beginning at $89.95. You get free admission to Studio 54, Two Grand Spa passes per stay, $25 dining credit per stay. call 877-880-0880 and use code INB017.
They have a ton of fabulous shows coming up. January 31st is George Strait, of course the Super Party on February 1st, Bette Midler on Valentine's Day, Chavez vs. Morales on February 28th, Chris Rock on March 5th, and Britney makes a return to Vegas on March 6th. Maybe she'll get married while she is there? I imagine she would be excited if it were only true that, "What happens in Vegas, Stays In Vegas"

Looks like three of you decided to become members of InsiderVLV yesterday. You still have plenty of time to do so and get your free tickets to the Old Time Vegas show. Look at yesterday's entry for details.
Today, I want to tell you about a great website for you online gamblers. Winner is your one-stop portal for online gambling. I'd call it a true find. As always, you can reach me at vegaskyle@vegaskyle.com

I don't know what to think about Binion's being bought by Harrah's. It really comes as no surprise and had been rumored for awhile anyway. This article in the Las Vegas Review Journal indicates that maybe Phil Ruffin's place, The New Frontier, could eventually become Binion's. YUK...
Aladdin's Magic Carpet Newsletter was in the mailbox today. Highlights, at least for me, were the Win A Mini A Month... Has anyone played their new Mini Cooper slots? The No Risk Slot Tournament has to be one of the best deals in town in my opinion. It is typical to come out ahead on the deal. The Members Only Room Rates are listed through September with the majority of the July-September dates being $39-59/night. I'd love a chance to stay here before Planet Hollywood takes it over. Of course, you know that Steve Wyrick is now at the Aladdin after leaving the Sahara. I'm assuming the show has to be smaller for the smaller space but probably still worth the moolah.

Dateline just ran the episode about the Ted Binion death...
Coincedence with Binion's being shut down? Probably...

Well, I was going through my mail tonight and got my quarterly mailing from the Riviera. I love the booklet layout! Interesting new items of mention. The Austin Powers .02 slots are in. The MASH .02 progressives are on their way. The Monaco Rooms have been renovated. There appears to be a new "trendy" restaurant being built where the gift shop and Rik Shaw used to be. It is called, "Jax". I find it interesting, as much as I love the Riv, that they are building a trendy restaurant. It seems uncharacteristic. The players card rates are posted in the book. My annual June trip will be very inexpensive.
